Staffordshire Whieldon Type Tortoiseshell Coffee Pot. Pear shaped body, the high domed cover with inverted acorn knop. Wide strap handle and undulating spout. Applied with sprigs of flowerheads, and scrolling vines. Staffordshire, England. Circa 1760. {Approximate dimensions: 9 3/4" H.}.
Very good condition; even crazing to glaze throughout. Restoration to 1/4" tip of spout. There are a couple of miniscule chips and a crack with possible restoration to the decorative rim of the acorn knop. Irregular drippy glaze, as per manufacture.
