Pair of Chinese Gilt Bronze Pixiu Figures.
The pair of mythical pixiu cast in bronze and richly gilt, each modeled in a recumbent yet alert stance with muscular bodies and expressive features. The creatures are depicted with open jaws, curling manes, and stylized wings, their forms further embellished with incised scrollwork and decorative motifs across the surface. The gilding shows areas of wear and tonal variation, enhancing the sculptural depth and emphasizing the contours of the bodies. Traditionally regarded as auspicious guardians associated with wealth and protection, the pair presents a dynamic and balanced composition.
