Liberty and Company Attributed Oak Thebes Stool. Double incurvate seat, slatted and mitered oak stool, attributed to Liberty & Co., London. The turned legs with interlocking joints and dowel stretchers with four decorative struts to each side. The concentric threading to the legs in imitation of leather thongs. The Egyptian revival styled stool called the Thebes Stool, was designed in the late 1800s by either William Birch Ltd. or B. North and Sons of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, for Liberty and Co. Patina, stains, marks, surface wear, and scratches appropriate for age. Two 2" and 3 1/2" light gouges to seat, black marker; some checkering, staining to stain.
