Huihan Liu (Chinese American, born 1952), after Derek George Montague Gardner (British, 1914-2007), Prelude to Trafalgar, Nelson's 'Victory' on Passage to Cadiz, 1805, late 20th century, oil on canvas. [Approximate dimensions - sight: 18 1/4" H x 27 1/2" W, canvas: 19" H x 28" W]. In this faithful rendition of Gardner's work, Liu depicts Nelson's victory under full sail emerging from a fogbank on passage to Cadiz, during September, 1805, with following warships in the background visible in the fog. Huihan Liu is an artist signature member of the California Art Club and master signature member of the Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society. He was trained in the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art in China in 1972 with a BA and MFA from the Academy of Art College of San Francisco in 1989. With more than thirty years as artist, illustrator and teacher, Liu has won numerous awards, been featured in "Southwest Art", "Art of the West" "The Artist's" and other magazines, and exhibited throughout the U.S. and in China.

Daniel M. (Wygold) Mitchell Estate. Mr. Mitchell was a Naval Officer and an entrepreneur. Serendipitously, Lieutenant Commander Dan Mitchell transferred to the Naval Reserve where he joined VR-872 – a Navel transport squadron out of the Alameda Naval Air Station that Michaan’s is located on now. He and his wife, Paris, loved to travel and made it a point to travel to Paris twice a year, and always brought back beautiful and interesting items. His collection covers the spectrum from noted painters to a variety of Empire and Empire Style Gilt Bronze Figural clocks, marble and bronze sculptures, bronze and gilt brass urns, and complex models of military ships and aircraft.
