A finely embroidered Cantonese opera stage hanging, dating to the Republican period (1912–1949), worked in brightly colored silk embroidery on a vibrant red satin ground. The exceptionally long hanging is decorated with a continuous procession of Daoist Immortals and legendary figures riding a variety of mythical beasts, including deer, qilin, tiger, ox, crane, phoenix, and dragon-horse, interspersed with flowering branches, birds, and auspicious motifs. The wide blue border is embroidered with fruiting vines and birds, while the lower edge is finished with an openwork net and polychrome silk tassels, characteristic of traditional Cantonese theatrical stage furnishings. Rich in symbolic imagery and executed in vivid satin stitch, the hanging would have served as an important decorative element in a Cantonese opera stage or ceremonial performance setting, reflecting the brilliant textile craftsmanship of southern China during the Republican period.

民国 粤剧戏台刺绣帷幔

一件民国时期（1912–1949）粤剧戏台刺绣帷幔，以红色缎地为底，通体采用彩色丝线精工刺绣而成。帷幔长幅展开，其上连续绣饰道教八仙及众多神话仙人，分别骑乘仙鹿、麒麟、猛虎、青牛、仙鹤、凤凰、龙马等祥瑞灵兽，间饰花卉、禽鸟、灵芝及吉祥纹样，构图生动，色彩绚丽。四周以蓝地花果纹边饰围绕，下缘配绿色网穗及多彩流苏，具有典型粤剧舞台帷幔的装饰风格。

此类长幔悬挂于粤剧戏台或戏班舞台两侧及前部，不仅具有装饰作用，也营造出富丽庄严的演出氛围。作品题材融合八仙人物、瑞兽、花鸟等传统吉祥图案，寓意福寿、祥瑞与喜庆，充分体现民国时期广东地区戏曲刺绣工艺的精湛水平及浓厚的地方艺术特色。
