Chinese Carved Wood Polychrome Seated Buddha.
The figure depicted seated in meditation on a lotus pedestal, the right hand raised in a gesture of reassurance, the robe draped in flowing folds and decorated with traces of gilt, the pedestal with remnants of polychrome decoration in red and green tones, the surface showing wear consistent with age. The facial features are calmly rendered, and the overall carving emphasizes a balanced and serene presence. Areas of original pigment and gilding remain, adding depth to the surface.
