Two Chinese Carved and Marble-Inset Wood End Tables. Comprising one tall pedestal-form stand and one lower circular table, each constructed of hardwood and extensively carved in high relief. The taller stand of hexagonal top with a fitted marble inset, raised on four curving legs joined by a pierced stretcher, the apron and legs carved with scrolling foliage, blossoms, and latticework. The lower table of circular form with a marble-inset top surrounded by a beaded edge, raised on four cabriole legs terminating in claw feet and joined by crossed stretchers. Both tables display deep relief carving with foliate and floral motifs throughout. {Approximate dimensions: tallest table height 32 inches; lower table height 18 inches}.
Wood surfaces show surface wear, including minor scratches, scuffs, and areas of rubbing. Carved details remain well defined with minor wear to high points. Marble insets show natural veining, with scattered surface wear and minor edge abrasions.
