Two Borneo Dayak Mandau Swords with Sheaths. Comprising example with carved bone pommel, wrapped grip, the blade impressed with indistinct lettering "BA..(?)", the carved bamboo sheath with woven handle, shell disc toggle, and weaving; example with carved bone pommel mounted with dyed hair, woven grip, one side of the hilt with gilt metal inlay, carved sheath mounted with matching dyed hair, shells, tooth, woven handle with loss, and shell toggle, also with pisau raut. {Approximate dimensions: Larger example including sheath 29 1/2" long.}.
Condition
Wear and weathering throughout. Loss to hair, break to woven handle. Slight bends to ends of blades.
