Three Chinese Matted Export Pith Paintings. Three Chinese export paintings on pith paper, each presented with a surrounding cream mat. The scenes depict vignettes of daily life including a figure suspended on an outdoor frame structure, attendants restraining or tending a reclining scholar, a man preparing a brazier, and single standing portraits of workers or servants shown barefoot or mid-motion. The painting style is light-handed and minimal against the neutral ground, with fine watercolor detail on faces, garments, and props. {Approximate dimensions - Mat size: 12 1/4 H x 17 1/2 W inches}.
