Seven Framed Chinese Export Pith Paintings. A group of seven Chinese export paintings on pith paper, individually housed in wooden frames. The works include a full-standing portrait of a lady in lavender-gold robes beneath a pale parasol with indigo-edged hems, attendants engaging in daily tasks such as preparing a small brazier and serving objects on a low table, two figures shaking hands or passing objects to one another in a kneeling exchange, small-scale portraits of workers or servants depicted in front and three-quarter pose, and a single figure seated at a side table holding a scroll-like implement. {Approximate dimensions - Largest frame size: 13 3/4 H x 7 3/4 W inches}. 

The pith surfaces show natural fiber texture, light spotting, and gentle edge wear visible beneath the mats, consistent with material and handling. Ask the Asian Art Department for more information.
