Pair of Chinese Gilt Cloisonne Buddhist Throne with Dragon and Phoenix Motifs, Possibly 18th Century. Each throne finely worked in gilt cloisonne with a pierced back panel featuring a central dragon or phoenix amidst scrolling lotus and cloud motifs. The arched borders are decorated with auspicious emblems and Buddhist symbols in vibrant turquoise, cobalt, and aubergine enamels. The stepped bases are encircled with further lotus scrolls picked out in rich enamels. {Height 10 1/4 inches}.
