Louis XVI Style Giltwood and Red Velvet Pier Mirror. Giltwood frame with red velvet to sunken areas. {Approximate dimensions: 68" high x 42 1/4" wide x 4" deep.}.

Condition

Some repairs to breaks, apparent restoration to gilt finish. Minor rubbing, loss, and wear to current gilt finish. Later mirror panel.

Warren Kopp and Paul Hardman were interior designers who owned an antique shop and interior decorating studio in the 1950s and 1960s.  In 1957, they bought the Talbot-Dutton House, now landmarked, where they set up an apartment as an homage to great French style.
