Louis XV Style Giltwood Pier Mirror. Carved openwork giltwood frame. 19th century. {Approximate dimensions:  85" high x 55" wide.}.

Condition

Condition:  Loose and detached carvings, in need of repairs.  Some surface wear, rubbing and patina to gilt.  Later mirror pane.

Provenance: Warren Kopp and Paul Hardman were interior designers who owned an antique shop and interior decorating studio in the 1950s and 1960s.  In 1957, they bought the Talbot-Dutton House, now landmarked, where they set up an apartment as an homage to great French style.
