Large Chinese Red Ground Embroidered Silk Panel. Worked on a vibrant red silk ground, the panel framed by a broad rectangular embroidered border executed in gilt and polychrome threads. The border is decorated with motifs of the Eight Immortals and various Daoist symbols, interspersed with ruyi-shaped clouds, flowering branches, and auspicious beasts. The central field is left plain. {H 136 x W 82 1/2 inches (345.44 x 209.55 cm)}.
