John James Audubon (American, 1785-1851), "Richardson's Jager," 1835, (Lestris Richardson. Male Adult 1. Young in Sep. 2). No. 55, Plate CCLXXII (272), 'Drawn from Nature by J.J. Audubon FRS. FLS.' and 'Engraved. Printed & Coloured by R. Havell 1835.' Hand-colored engraving, [approximate dimensions - plate: 20 5/8" H x 25 7/8" W, sheet: 25 1/4" H x 38" W]. 'J Whatman 1835' watermark at upper right.

Condition

Sheet toned and shows acid burn on the edges. Much of the condition issues under the matting. Wear to edges including paper loss, small tears, and some edges folded. There is an inch tear at the right center side and two half inch tears at the lower left area. Foxing and staining. Framed: 28 1/8" H x 40" W. Ask Fine Arts Department for additional photos.
