The chest of two-section construction, each section of rectangular form, the exterior in warm-toned wood with pronounced grain, fitted with blackened metal mounts including corner brackets, circular lock plates, and bail handles, the front arranged with multiple drawers of varying sizes and a hinged locking door opening to reveal a series of smaller internal drawers. The modular design allows the chest to be separated into upper and lower sections, reflecting the practical and portable nature of traditional tansu furniture, while the combination of functional storage elements and bold metal fittings creates a balanced interplay between utility and visual presence.
