Group of Japanese Imari Porcelain

A charming group of Japanese Imari porcelain comprising a covered jar surmounted by a seated karashishi (foo dog), two bowls, and three plates. Decorated in the traditional Imari palette of underglaze blue, iron red, and gilt enamels, the pieces feature flowering plants, birds, and auspicious motifs characteristic of export porcelains produced in Arita for both domestic and international markets during the Edo and Meiji periods.

The lively decoration and varied forms illustrate the enduring popularity of Imari wares, celebrated for their vibrant colors, intricate designs, and fine craftsmanship.
