Five Continental Ecclesiastical Embroidered Silk Panels. Partly deconstructed chasuble with two pairs of additional panels. The off white figured silk with lavish embroidered floral and gilt metal thread foliage, the embroidery possibly Chinese. The larger panel pair with a gilt brass hook to one side and chain to the other, each side with gilt brass cross to the same side as the hook or chain. The panels all edged with gilt metal thread tape. Western Europe. Circa 1890. {Approximate dimensions: The largest section of the chasuble 45" W. x 115" D. The next largest pair of panels 37" x 29 1/2". The smallest pair of panels 12" x 18 1/4".}. Condition: Chasuble section with water stain to area roughly cut, about 2" x 18". Additional scattered small stains. Smaller panels with dirt, stains. Some loose and lost threads.
