Chinese Hetian Jade Carved Belt Buckle.
The belt buckle carved from pale celadon jade with russet skin, the surface worked in relief with a sinuous qilong emerging along the upper edge. The creature depicted with a curved body, raised head, and scrolling tail, the russet-brown inclusions incorporated into the carving to emphasize the figure and decorative motifs. The reverse carved with openwork scroll elements and a projecting hook terminal at one end, with a rounded stud fitting beneath the body for attachment. The stone with a smooth polished surface showing natural color variation from creamy white to warm brown. {Approximate dimensions: length 4 7/8 inches}.
