Chinese Gilt Bronze Seated Buddha Figure in Painted Wooden Shrine.
Seated in meditation on a lotus base, the right hand lowered in bhumisparsha mudra and the left resting in the lap. The figure housed within a painted wooden shrine with arched opening, the structure decorated in red and black lacquer with gilt-painted motifs including clouds and floral elements. The shrine raised on a stepped base and fitted with a removable back panel bearing painted characters.{Approximate dimensions: height 25 1/2 inches; width 18 1/4 inches; depth 10 1/4 inches}
Condition
Wear to gilt surface and lacquer decoration.
