Chinese Carved and Polychrome Painted Stone Buddhist Head.

The carved stone head depicting a serene Buddhist figure with downcast eyes, arched brows, and softly modeled facial features. The hair gathered beneath an elaborate headdress carved in high relief with scrolling foliate ornament. The crown centered with a seated Buddha figure within a halo, flanked by additional small figures and decorative motifs. Traces of polychrome pigment remain throughout, including red, blue, and green accents highlighting the headdress and ornamentation. The ears elongated and the expression calm, with the head resting on a short neck base. {Approximate dimensions: height 25 inches}
