Chinese Ge Ware Style Tripod Incense Burner.
The censer of compressed globular form raised on three short legs, with a pair of upright loop handles at the rim, covered overall in a crackled glaze of warm beige tone with a dense network of dark “iron wire” crackles interspersed with lighter “golden thread” lines, characteristic of Ge-type wares. The glaze pooling unevenly around the foot and interior, revealing subtle tonal variation and depth, the form inspired by archaic bronze prototypes while rendered in ceramic with a focus on surface texture and antiquarian taste. The pronounced crackle pattern, together with the balanced proportions and restrained silhouette, reflects the aesthetic appreciation for controlled irregularity and age-associated patina in later interpretations of classical Ge ware.
