Chinese Bronze Crab, Ming Dynasty. Naturalistically cast with a broad carapace and eight slender legs splayed in motion, the surface showing mottled brown and blue-green patination. The articulated claws are raised as if poised to grasp. {H 2 1/2 x W 9 x D 4 inches (6.5 x 23 x 10 cm)}.

Condition: The bronze shows surface wear consistent with age, including areas of oxidation and scattered blue-green patination, particularly around the joints of the legs and claws. Ask the Asian Art department for more information.
