Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Bowl with Calligraphy.
The bowl of gently flaring form with a lobed rim, rising from a short foot, the exterior decorated in underglaze blue with calligraphic inscriptions interspersed with small iron-red seals. The interior is covered in a pale, translucent glaze, complementing the restrained decoration on the exterior. The brushwork of the characters is fluid and expressive, conveying a scholarly aesthetic. The base bears a Tianshun mark (corresponding to the reign of Emperor Tianshun, 1457–1464), and the inscription “赏赐” (meaning “bestowed as an imperial gift”) adds an element of historical and symbolic significance. The overall composition reflects a balance between literary expression and ceramic form.
