Monumental Chinese Carved Wood Figure of Shoulao with Attendants.

Finely carved as the Daoist deity Shoulao, the God of Longevity, depicted standing and holding a staff with a gnarled branch, his high domed forehead and long flowing beard rendered with expressive detail, accompanied by child attendants and symbolic attributes including a peach and gourd, the figure standing atop a naturalistic base carved with foliage and rockwork, the wood surface with a rich reddish-brown polish.
