Baroque Giltwood Putto. Modelled on its stomach, arms and legs outstretched, issuing wings to the upper back, head turned to left, left hand holding aloft remnants of a stick or pole. To lower mid-section, a large eye screw has been inserted into figure to hold it aloft. {Approximate dimensions: 10" H. x 35" L. x 11" D.}. Provenance: Austin Hills. Condition: Left arm broken off and reglued near socket. One wing broken off and glued back on; another with cracking toward wing base where it meets the back. Various surface losses and chips, scratches to gilding, and some evidence of repainting.
