The cylindrical censer is sturdily potted with a broad, rounded rim, straight sides, and three short shaped feet. The exterior is encircled by a series of evenly spaced horizontal ribs, creating alternating raised and recessed bands around the body. {Height 3 1/2 inches x Diameter 6 inches}.
The vessel is covered inside and out with a translucent olive-green celadon glaze. The glaze pools to a deeper green within the recessed bands and appears paler along the raised ribs and edges, emphasizing the strongly molded form. The restrained shape, monochrome glaze, and rhythmic horizontal bands reflect the Qing dynasty continuation of the Longquan celadon tradition.
