Two Native American Hupa Basket Woven Articles: A Bowl and Cradle Sunshade, each woven with interstitial reticulated bands under the upper edges, the bowl with concentric brown and black bands, and the sunshade with alternating reticulated and woven bands, the woven bands worked in off white, brown and black geometric patterns.
{Approximate dimensions: 5 1/2" H. x 8 7/8" Diameter, the bowl, the sunshade 13 1/2" H. x 10" W. x 4 1/4" D.}.
Condition
Loose wraps to bowl, minor losses and breaks. The sunshade with wraps absent in sections of the top, and sides, the upper section compressed caused breaks to side edges, and with losses to top edge; minor losses to side and base edges. Dust, dirt, wear. Please contact the Furniture and Decorative Arts Department for a detailed condition report on this lot.
