Two Michael Hosaluk Carved, Painted Ceremonial Bowls, the first, of maple, on four standards with horse hair embellishments and acrylic paint; the second an oviform painted vessel atop three stylized claws. The first with initials MH / 90 for 1990 engraved into base underside of bowl. The second with initials MH 97 for 1997 in brown paint to underside of vessel.

The underside base of the bowl with manufactured faux cracks, and possible natural light fissuring. The top of the oviform vessel is rough, as intended, with a few very shallow losses to paint. The crackled surface has two larger cracks to side, whether intentional or not, impossible to determine. The horse hairs are tangled. Minor surface wear.
