Two Japanese Inro: A Carved Wood Three-Case Inro with Carp and a Gold Lacquer Four-Case Inro. 19th Century. {Wood case L 3 1/8 x W 2 3/8 inches; gold case L 2 5/8  x W 2 1/8 inches}. 

The wood inro carved with carp amid aquatic plants, accompanied by a fish-form wood netsuke and a spherical ojime. The gold lacquer inro decorated with an umbrella and a basket, with mother-of-pearl accents.

Condition: The compartments fit slightly loosely.

Provenance: Hale Family Collection, Los Gatos, California.
