Inscription: Respectfully offered in celebration of the marriage of Zhongjin, son of my esteemed friend Chengyan. Ninth month of the jiachen year (1964). Congratulations from your younger brother, Yunsheng, Sun Jiarui.

A student of Zhang Daqian, Sun Yunsheng drew inspiration from the Dunhuang mural tradition. This painting depicts a stylized bird in vivid turquoise, red, and blue mineral pigments, with bold outlines and flat passages of color. A finely hand-painted border of scrolling floral motifs recalls ornamental textile patterns, enriching the decorative composition. The inscription records its presentation as a wedding gift in 1964.

孙云生师从张大千，深受敦煌壁画传统影响。本作以鲜明的石青、石绿及红色矿物颜料描绘禽鸟，轮廓有力，设色平整，富于装饰意味。四周缠枝花卉边饰均以手绘完成，仿佛织物纹样，与主体相映。题款记载本作为1964年祝贺新婚之赠。
