Shadow Box Automaton of a Franciscan Monk and Baby Jesus in Church Surround, the monk, standing, facing sinister, arms held aloft to catch the figure of Baby Jesus, falling from the sky, within an elaborate Gothic arch to represent a church, all behind glass, within elaborate frame wrapped in gilded sheet metal. Circa 1920.

Glazed front panel with dirt, dust and scratches, partly obscuring the figural action, most especially toward lower section of case.
