Seven Piece Art Deco Cocktail Set. Comprising a straight sided stainless chrome shaker / pitcher and cover with black Bakelite handle and knop, screw-in cap to spout and stepped base; a cylindrical shaker with recessed black banded body, the knop to cover with black Bakelite detailing; four chrome bodied cocktail coupes of conical shape with flaring inverted conical Bakelite bases; and a rectangular tray with silvered, stepped frame and handles, and clear plastic sheet over black and silver painted geometric design. Pitcher marked to the underside with "STAINLESS CHROME", shaker marked "PAT.NO.1,969,386", "PAT.NO.91,179" and centaur trademark with "CHASE U.S.A.".
{Approximate dimensions: pitcher 11 7/8" high with cover x 6 3/4" wide with handle x 4 9/16" diameter, shaker 11 5/8" high with cover x 3 3/4" diameter, cocktail glass 3 3/16" high x 3 1/8" diameter, and tray 1 1/8" high with handles x 16 1/16" wide x 12 1/16" deep.}.
Condition
Wear includes surface scratches, some rubbing, light pitting primarily to pitcher, corrosion and patina to interior of pitcher and more noticeably to inside bottom of shaker. Tray with craquelure to black paint in area, some rubbing, small finish losses, craquelure, two cocktail glasses slightly loose on stems and two with minuscule nicks to base edges. Some aging as made. Please ask the Furniture and Decorative Arts Department for a detailed condition report on this lot.
