Set of Four Chinese Hardstone-Inlaid Panels Depicting the Four Seasons, 1980s, each vertical panel finely decorated with vase arrangements of seasonal flowers—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—rendered in carved and inlaid hardstones against a dark ground. The compositions are accompanied by calligraphic inscriptions identifying each season, and include auspicious objects such as scholar’s items and decorative stands.
The vibrant stone inlays and careful arrangement reflect traditional decorative themes of prosperity, harmony, and the cyclical nature of time.
{Each: 37 3/4 x 12 1/2 inches}.
