Second Empire Marble and Gilt Bronze Annular Serpent Clock, the upper body decorated with a gilt bronze figure of cupid, seated with a fleche of arrows to his sides, atop the black enamel cover to the clock, the body with two white enamel chapter rings, the Roman numeral lower for hours, and the Arabic numbers for the upper for minutes, melée diamonds bracketing both, with gilt bronze foliate handles issuing swagged garlands of flowers, wrapping around the lower urn body, and in turn, encircled with an asp, whose head and tongue point out the time, on gilt bronze foot, over red marble base, decorated with bands of laurel leaves between the ribbed grooved stone, on a low square plinth with foliated designs to corners. The clock mechanism itself with rotating dial around a fixed face.
