Pre-Prohibition Buffalo Brewing Co. Lager Dawes Reverse Painted Pendant Lamp. Four reverse painted curved glass panels, paint and gilt; with round black metal hanging frame; panels read "BUFFALO LAGER / BUFFALO BREWING CO. / SACRAMENTO, CAL." with depiction of the brewery and horse drawn carriages; lower left corners with "DAWES. 212 SANSOME ST. S.F.", lower right corners with "PATENT APPLIED FOR". Circa 1900. {Approximate dimensions: pendant without hanging hardware 25 7/8" high x 21 1/2" diameter; pane insert 24" high x 14 3/4" wide.}.
Condition
Panels with some aging to paint, namely lifting and dullness to gilt. Some paint splatter to exterior side. Frame with minor wear and some rust.
