Persian Sarouk Inscribed Carpet, red field, woven with stylized lanterns and medallions, and sparse scattered foliate motifs pendant scrolling stems, in shades of blue, and with ocher, pink, two shades of blue and black. The bold primary border with floral bouquets, bracketed by two additional borders to sides.

Parts of the primary bordrer darkened and stained. One corner with stains and washed out, now a lightly pinker color from the red field. Various brown dot stains, some more notable than others. A several inch area of border and one vasiform motif partly threadbare. Some thread loss to border area. Surface wear, dirt, lacking fringe.
