Paul Jacoulet (French, 1902-1960), "L'Étoile de Gobi, Mongole" (The Star of Gobi, Mongolia), 1951, color woodcut with embellished with metallic pigment and embossing on wove Japanese paper. Watermark of artist's initial and in kanji: Jakure at lower left. Unnumbered. Signed in pencil at lower left with owl's seal. Seals of the carver, Kentaro Maeda; printer, Tetsunosuke Honda; and titled at lower right corner. Sheet has kento notch at lower right. Artist's seal in red stamped verso lower left. [Approximate dimensions - plate: 15 1/2" H x 11 3/4" W, sheet: 18 1/2" H x 14" W].

Sheet is matted. Sheet is taped from verso onto the mat. Sheet toned and show discoloration. Creases at the left side and bottom. Minor tiny tears. Matted: 20" H x 6" W.
