Pair of Louis XV Giltwood Fauteuils.  Carved frames with red silk upholstery. 18th century.  {Approximate dimensions: 37 1/2" high x 21" wide x 23 1/2" deep.}.

Condition

Gilt with patina, restoration, and loss.  Upholstery with some wear and darkening.  Frames with repairs to legs.

Warren Kopp and Paul Hardman were interior designers who owned an antique shop and interior decorating studio in the 1950s and 1960s.  In 1957, they bought the Talbot-Dutton House, now landmarked, where they set up an apartment as an homage to great French style.
