Pacific Northwest Kwakwakawakw Painted Mask by Don Lelooska, of carved cedar, painted with red and black enamel, the whole surround inlaid with mother of pearl, as well as with mother of pearl eyes and teeth. Signed in graphite to back, LELOOSKA. Not dated.

(Chief Don Lelooska (also known as Don Smith, 1933–1996).

Minor surface wear and scratching, one front lower tooth made with two pieces of mother of pearl, rather than one; minute loss to upper eyebrow on second border face from bottom. Please contact the Furniture and Decorations department for a detailed condition report on this lot.
