Large Sino-Tibetan Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka, 20th Century. Depicting Shakyamuni Buddha seated upon a lotus throne within an elaborate aureole, the central figure surrounded by multiple Buddhas, attendant deities, and narrative vignettes illustrating episodes from the Buddha’s life. The composition is executed in gold and polychrome pigments on a vivid red ground. Framed by a wide, multi-colored brocade silk border. {Image size: 26 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches; with scroll 56 x 37 inches}.
