Josef Albers (German/American, 1888-1976); Two screenprints from the Formulation Articulation portfolio; (i) Green, plate size: 10" H x 12" W, sheet: 15" H x 20" W, "Portfolio I, Folder 2" in print, with 297 in pencil to verso, and (ii) Red, plate size: 13 1/8" H x 13 1/2" W, sheet: 15" H x 20" W, "Portfolio I, Folder 22" in print, with 297 in pencil to verso. Both have "Copyright 1972 by Harry N. Abrams, Inc. and Ives-Sillman, Inc." verso.
Condition
Dimensions provided are based on approximate measurements. Each tape mounted at top verso to mat. (i) Mark from previous mat about an inch outside the image perimeter, some foxing in the margins, one surface mark approx. 1 1/2" near the bottom right center, overall good condition. (ii) Some spots of foxing in the margins, small accretion near bottom right center; several surface marks, noticed primarily in the brown areas; several tiny specks of possible printing imperfections; overall good condition.
