Jenny Holzer (American, born 1950), "Truisms Postcards," thirteen screenprints on postcard sized plywood boards, five are in black ink and eight in red ink. Postcards includes in black ink: two 'Money Creates Taste,' two 'Abuse Of Power Comes As No Surprise,' and 'Words Tend To Be Inadequate;' in red ink: two 'Raise Boys and Girls The Same Way,' two 'Protect Me From What I Want,' 'You Are Guileless In Your Dreams,' 'Men Don't Protect You Anymore,' 'The Beginning Of The War Will Be Secret,' and 'Expiring For Love Is Beautiful But Stupid.' [Approximate dimensions - postcard (each): 3 7/8" H x 5 7/8" W], all unsigned.

Jenny Holzer is an American neo-conceptual artist renowned for delivering aggressive, thought-provoking text directly into public spaces. She became a pioneering figure in teh 1970s and 1980s by using language as her primary medium to challenge power, authority, gender and consumerism. Her breakthrough project, Truisms, consisted of anonymous black-and-white street posters pasted across Manhattan. They featured punchy, conflicting aphorisms like "Abuse of power comes as no surprise" and "Protect me from what I want." 

Each shows minor handling wear. One of the 'Protect Me...' and a 'Raise Boys...' shows wood lamination lifting on both front and back of the right lower corner.
