Japanese Heianjo Zogan Iron Tsuba.
Iron sword guard of circular form with carved foliate scroll decoration and brass inlaid accents in the Heianjo zogan style. The surface with dark patina and pierced openings for the tang and kozuka. Both sides decorated with scrolling foliage with small brass inlays typical of Kyoto workshops producing Heianjo-style fittings during the Momoyama to early Edo period. {Approximate dimensions: 2 3/4 inches diameter}
