A finely bound collection of five volumes of Japanese fairy tales, translated by Lafcadio Hearn. The titles include The Boy Who Drew Cats; The Goblin Spider; The Old Woman Who Lost Her Dumpling; The Fountain of Youth; and Chin-Chin Kobakama. Each volume illustrated with woodblock prints and issued in original pictorial crepe-paper wrappers with silk ties, bound in traditional stab-bound format. Housed in the original publisher’s folding cloth case with pictorial lining and original clasps. {Approximate dimensions: 7 3/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches}.
