Japanese Bronze Figure of a Lady Playing a Shamisen. The bronze figure depicts a standing woman dressed in layered kimono, shown playing a shamisen held across the body. The facial features and garments are finely modeled, with attention to drapery and posture. The figure stands on an integral base mounted to a carved wooden stand, and is signed Tsukahara. The style and execution suggest a possible Meiji period date. {Approximate dimensions: height 18 inches}.

Surface wear and patina consistent with age; base with minor wear.
