Italian Baroque Marble Relief Plaque. Depicting Virgin Mary holding Christ Child, with cherub busts to corners, in later wood frame; the plaque with some gilt remnants. 17th/18th century. {Approximate dimensions: Plaque 8 5/8" high x 7 3/4" wide, frame 15 3/4" x 14 7/8".}. Purchased from Butterfield & Butterfield San Francisco for $1,200, the invoice from June 18th 1985. Condition: The frame with wear and insect damage. The plaque with some discoloration. Repairs to two corners with some chip loss, additional more minor repairs throughout.
