Inscription: Painted in the twelfth month of the jiashen year of the Zhizheng reign (1344) at a residence by West Lake. Wang Yuan.
Seal: Wang Yuan

Formerly in the collection of a cultural relics shop, bearing a shop label and a wax seal. The label is numbered A9207 and identifies the work as Flowers by Wang Yuan, 80 years old, with a listed price of RMB 100.

Provenance: Collection of a distinguished scholar at the University of California.

The scholar visited China and Hong Kong several times during the 1970s and 1980s and received numerous gifts during these visits. Michaan's Auctions is honored to present this work from the collection.
