A group of six Chinese blue and white porcelain pieces, all painted in underglaze cobalt on a pale bluish white glaze. One large dish has a wide, open interior decorated with bold peony-like blossoms and tall grasses executed in soft, washed brushstrokes. The other large dish shows a more tightly framed scene of rocks and flowering plants in the center, enclosed by a broad border of darker blue with alternating floral reserves and small patterned panels. A shallow dish is painted with a flowering shrub and a single hovering insect on one side of the well. The exterior of the smaller bowl is lightly brushed with simple leafy sprays above the foot. A tiny saucer shows a rounded motif of a fish or aquatic creature turning within a narrow cavetto. The squat, globular vessel at the front has a short neck and is encircled at the shoulder by radiating petal lappets with a scrolling band around the lower body. {Approximate dimensions - largest diameter 11 inches}.
