George Nelson for Herman Miller Thin Edge Birch Bed, woven cane inset to headboard, attached to tubular metal frame, above the wood bed frame with rails over painted tubular metal H shape legs. To center, canvas over springs and horsehair. Silver foil label to underside, facsimile George Nelson signature in red design, over hermann two red triangles and black line, miller, zeeland, michigan. The Thin Edge Bed first introduced in 1954. This bed circa 1970.

Minor wear overall. Wood with nicks primarily to top edge of headboard or footboard, some surface scratches, rubbing. 2 3/4" long area of finish loss to frame top near corner. Mattress cover with a few small stains, scattered bleached looking spots, pilling along crease near border, a few loose threads. Metal legs and crossbeams with some nicks, scuffs, dirt/discoloration.
